Family time in Východná

This post is from the weekend we spent with our dear Slovak daughter, Katarína Joy and her sweet family in Východná.  I didn't take nearly enough photos, but my only excuse is that we were really enjoying our "family time" together in the village, and it was so relaxing and joyful that we didn't think often enough about snapping pictures!  (None of her parents or aunt - bummer.)

Katarína's nephew, Jurko, near the doghouse.  Have you ever seen such a darling little boy, OR such a darling doghouse?   :-)

Jurko heading out on the tractor with his parents, Juraj and Anička.

Ana brought this little box over ......

..... so we could see their wedding photos on this flash drive.
What a lovely way to store the memory stick!

This was our first time meeting Michael, Katarína's fiancé!  We were so excited to hear about their engagement in person instead of in an email.  This wonderful man won our hearts (and approval too), and would have done so even WITHOUT bringing me this beautiful bouquet of flowers!!  :-)

We went on a walk back up into the hills above Východná (village) and below Kriváň (mountain).  Gorgeous day!

The four of us went on a double-date to the Marina restaurant for supper, since Katarína and Michael had never been there.  Such a fun evening together on the lakeshore!!

The happy couple!  Adorable!!

Katarína Joy and Michael met is in Liptovský Mikuláš for church Sunday morning, where she was our translator.  Afterwards we got to see many church friends, choir members, etc., and then we went with our friend Ján Blhač to see his family's tourist accommodation in Liptovský Ondrej.  No photos.  :-(   How did I keep forgetting???

These photos are of Katarína's grandmother on her wedding day and as a young girl, wearing traditional clothing of the time period.

We were so blessed to be able to spend some time with this sweet lady (the strong and loving family matriarch), twice during our weekend in Východná.  Grandma passed away recently, only a few weeks after our visit, and she is greatly missed.

The beautiful flower bouquet from Michael   :-)

Another photo of Katarína's brother Juraj, his wife Ana, and their adorable son, also Juraj, just like Katarína's father Juraj!  So the littlest is called Jurko while he's small!
