The High Tatras
High Tatras Mountains, Slovakia - June 13

| Kriváň is always a spectacular sight, this time beyond the River Belá, where the Kozak rafting business runs excursions in the spring when the water is deeper. |

| Even though we've been here before, this hike/walk is one of our favorites --- from Štrbské Pleso to Popradské Pleso, two lakes in the High Tatras Mountains. This is the ski jump area near Štrbské Pleso. |

| At first I couldn't figure out why I took this picture, but then I remembered that we saw legit rock climbers with cables and belays, up on the side of this sheer rock face. I could spot them when I zoomed in on the photo. Amazing! And I would think quite dangerous!! |

| After the hike, we hurried to another village, Liptovský Trnovec, to attend an evening mass with Eva and Ivan. |

| This was the Mráz's 25th wedding anniversary, so the priest gave the mass in honor of their marriage, and he blessed their rings and had them renew their wedding vows as well. |
 |

| Still in our hiking clothes, we felt under-dressed for the occasion, but the priest was actually wearing his bicycling clothes underneath his robes, so we didn't worry too much about it in the end!! ;-) |
